I am currently studying two courses at Hunter Design School and studied last year with the school as well. I can not recommend this design institution enough! HDS has not only encouraged and inspired me to be every bit imaginative and creative, they have also supported me every single part of the way. The classes I am in are so amazing and my peers and teachers are so accepting and encouraging of everyone's unique individuality. Thanks to HDS I now have clear direction with the path I'm heading down for my future in a creative industry. I have never had any issues with the school and find that all the teachers are approachable and friendly. This is definitely the place to go to study design.
Last year I studied the Diploma of Colour Consulting at HDS and it was the best decision I made. I learnt so much in just one year and the industry contacts and experiences that HDS provided were invaluable to my training and ability to start my own business. Everyone is so welcoming and truly care about you getting the most out of your course. The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and supportive, I couldn't imagine getting the same attention at any other school. I would definitely recommend HDS to anyone wanting to study design. I would love to return to continue studying and build my skills.
I'm a second year student at Design College Australia, studying a Diploma in Visual Communication. I have nothing but good things to say. I've made great like-minded friends. The staff are experienced and charismatic - they make it difficult not to be engaged. Class is always a pleasure. The curriculum is broad, can't believe how much I've learnt. Some highlights for me have been: typography, web design and food photography. There is no room for boredom on the projects, work is hands on. I frequently interact with businesses and the public. People interested in a career as a designer or photographer, I highly recommend DCA. It's been an unforgeable experience! P.S. They also have a spectacular new campus
Really disappointed in majority of my limited experience as an online student. It's been issue after issue at Billy blue / Torrens and you are paying a premium for recycled content that some teachers aren't even familiar with. Dealing with student services (while the staff are lovely) is like pulling teeth. Every-time I have sent a PDF for an application they can't open it, they respond to a different email than the one I use to send applications. You don't have any access to your teachers and most of them do not even provide an email address let alone a phone number, they ask you to use myclass messages but good luck having them respond before you have to remind them in a live class. Not the investment in education I expected. I won't speak for the experience of others, but here are my thoughts. If looking at this be mindful. To understand the difference between Fee-help and HECS. This degree cost me ~$20,000 more than I expected and have noted others experiencing this. The additional cost was a loan fee which was not articulated by the recruitment teams nor understood by anyone I knew as it differed from the standard University payment support system. Be mindful as a new student. Read the legal documents thoroughly. A few years ago I brought this up and was met with disregard. My experience has taught me to be mindful. Great teaching and content but the student services is horrendous. I even ended up dropping out and going to a new university because they would not respond to any sort of contact about my reenrolment. I accepted my offer for the bachelor (from my original diploma) after multiple calls texts emails it ended up being 2 weeks into the semester before I got a response. I finally received a response and enrolled but then there were no units for me to select. Again I called emailed and texted multiple times a day to receive no response. It became a month into semester with me not having any units so I just left it at that and went to another university. Super disappointing. But other than that the quality of teaching was great. RUN! Do not walk far, far, FAR AWAY!! Billy Blue is a failing money grubbing institution, in the time since I've been attending this educational facility to complete a diploma and bach interior design I have bared witness to international students grades being changed so they pass despite not meeting the bare minimum level of work needed. Teacher's forbidden from saying a bad thing about billy blue or Torrens Courses. Enrolment officers making grossly unrealistic promises of employment opportunities in creative industries. Failing to provide practical software education to accurately prepare them for their desired industry. I could cry over the hours I have spent weaving through the phone web that is student services. I had an interesting experience with some of the lecturers' BUT Only one who actually cares and is willing to help me. Sir you are the best of the best. But this one female lecturer, I know the others had same experience as me with this female lecturer. Not sure why she was there, if she is not willing to help someone who actually need help by asking for help. And you know what she did? She want to expel me and get me off the course, even though I was the one who asked for help. My fault for doing Diploma of Design and thinking this school was it. Latrobe College has been teaching contemporary art and design in Melbourne for 21 years. Many successful artists have begun their careers here. An excellent small art school.
I have absolutely loved everything about studying at Lcad! An excellent, small, art encompassing environment, with friendly like-minded people and expert practising artist teachers. The overseas trips were fantastic too!
Worst mistake of my life enrolling here. Once you move to Melbourne and pay the deposit, they can cancel the course days before it is supposed to start due to “not enough enrolments”. Was totally deceived by Bion.
These past six months have been quite a journey for me. I've successfully finished the UX/UI course at Academy Xi, which has greatly enhanced my professional knowledge in this field and provided me with valuable hands-on experience. The best part of Academy Xi's graphic design course is the mentors. You can have access to one-on-one sessions with mentors as you complete your course and during real client projects. I loved my experience at Academy Xi, I studies the Software Engineering Transform course and managed to get a job before my course finished. The whole team have been great to deal with and really helpful along the way. My instructor Frae was awesome and had some legends in my class, we met up a couple of times for food/ drinks. I was a bit cautious choosing a course at first as you hear good and bad things and wanted to make sure I chose the best one. Really enjoyed, and was totally satisfied with the UX Transform course I have just completed with Academy XI. Everything about it was excellent, from the comprehensive course content which was all self-paced online, with some live-taught sessions, the mentors were all excellent and available for one on one meetings whenever you needed them, and the two client projects provided vital real-world experience to put it all into practice, whilst working with and managing teams to complete each sprint. The career coaching was the main factor which made me choose the course and this offers excellent guidance to help you find a job. Totally recommend!
