I have just completed my Diploma of Counselling with AIPC. And would like to have the opportunity to say how fantastic the experience was, not only the curriculum itself but also the practice. Meeting each facilitator for the practical exams and getting their feedback/advice was excellent. The AIPC team/student services are always ready to help with any questions. Highly recommend the institution to anyone wanting to pursue a counselling career.
I graduate with AIPC month and I would say that my experience is positive. The material and the units were fascinating and full of content. The practical assessment (I suggest doing the in person seminars) were enriching and valuable. I found a welcoming environment and ready to respond support team.
Financial Counselling course is structured very well thus far, and the face-to-face role play practical sessions are amazing. Well worth doing the practical sessions with other students. Facilitators are encouraging and provide excellent feedback.

My experience with AIPC has been incredibly rewarding. The staff are consistently friendly, supportive, and quick to assist whenever needed. The web platform is easy to navigate, making it simple to download resources and complete work both online and offline. The tutors provide exceptional support, always responsive and very helpful. I’d like to give a special mention to Rob, Wan, Belinda, Georgie, and Alice for their incredible assistance. A big shout-out to Kellie, the Zoom assessor, who is fantastic—she’s informative, kind, and truly enhances the practical assessment experience. I was working at an INGO in Abuja, Nigeria but i was dissatisfied with the impact I was making in my field, so I chose to switch to mental healthcare provision at the age of 30. Studied Counselling with AIPC completely online from Nigeria, and it was a very thorough course. They are also always reviewing and updating the modules, they've introduced podcasts as well as videos to help students learn. The course materials are exhaustive and written in plain english. The only challenge I had was getting accustomed to the technical terms and concepts of counselling. Asides that, I loved the feedback on assessments especially when i had NYCs. I am enrolling for the Masters in Counselling starting 2024, thats how comfortable and confident I am about the quality of education they provide.
I graduated with the Diploma in Counselling and had a fantastic learning experience with AIPC. The course content is self paced so I could fit it in and around my work and life commitments. The assessments also have multiple options so you can go into an office, do video or combine with an online assessor. The course content is wide and gives you the foundations to then decide where you want to specialise. The service from AIPC with any of my queries was fantastic and the post course support via NCPP as to how to set up a private practice or the Work Ready options to help you find a role in the counselling field are amazing. Highly recommend to anyone looking at a career change or to upskills themselves.
Thoroughly enjoyed studying with AIPC. The course was interesting and the practical sessions helped cement the knowledge base.
I hate to leave a negative review- but for those wanting to learn, you will not learn during this course. You will receive a PDF from which you are asked to copy and paste answers into a document. Students are not cared for, they are simply customers. I do not recommend
I did my Bachelor of Counselling with AIPC and I absolutely would not recommend them to anyone. To start, the prices are literally insane - they bumped up the price at the end of last year by $200 for a unit that did not change at all. Their placement units are $2,490, and they don’t help you find placement and only do 6 2 hour webinars. The marking consistency was shocking, and I had multiple units where students were either failed or almost failed with feedback that made no sense. The markers left personal attacks as feedback, and often went completely against things we had been told or marked correctly on by other lecturers. All students are told to wait 3 days to ‘cool off’ after receiving marks- categorically insulting to students to prevent them from reaching out for support after receiving marks that many times were completely unfair. I had the pleasure of learning with this wonderful Institute in Carina. My experience started in 2019 with Rob, Alice, and the team. I found them all to be so encourageable , Trustworthy, and just a great bunch of people. There was always a smile and a cuppa to greet me when I would attend the Prac sessions. or pop in for some quiet time to study. The studies themselves are self-paced and so flexible. Kelly is one of the most experienced educators and I was lucky to have her for 9 out of my 10 Pracs. I am now a Qualified Counsellor and about to embark on my own Private Practice journey. Without the Australian Institute of Professional Counselling my husband and I would not have our own business that employs 5 - 8 staff. We completed the Diploma which gave us 5 credits to select Universities in Australia where we completed Undergraduate Degrees, these degrees provided nothing but statistics and history. Without the AIPC diploma we would not have known where to start with Counselling clients. The structure of the course allows you to commence counselling "real" people as soon as you are finished. We hire 90% of our staff from the AIPC as we know the calibre of the training and the excellent content of the Diploma/Degree. Did the Diploma of counseling only to find out that employers want psychology degrees and social work degrees. This diploma is not recognized and out of date in my opinion. Wasted thousands on this ridiculous course only to still not find a job with it. I would gladly hand back the diploma to get a full refund AIPC!!
If you are interested in best practice education in the field of counselling this is the place. The courses are at the cutting edge of research, practical and the support of supervisors and staff is outstanding. I've completed a Bachelor and an MBA, and at AIPC Brisbane I have found a standard second to none and my expectations have been surpassed. Sometimes a place just has the right ethos and people!
The learning experience was enjoyable, however staff can be rude and arrogant. communication is also lacking, very hard to get a hold of lectures. After reviewing my course and comparing it with other courses offered by other institutes, I see there have been gaps in the education provided. I, respectfully, advise future students to have a good look around and compare the course work.
Studying through AIPC has been wonderful as I can fit study in with my family commitments. I have completed all my practicals online as I live two hours away from Perth and have found these to be an amazing learning experience. I certainly recommend AIPC to others interested in counselling.
Completed the Diploma of Counselling with AIPC Perth. I can not recommend their qualification highly enough: - The learning materials and the online learning system are very clear and user friendly. - The regular contact with AIPC Perth and the national team are always informative, pleasant and personal. - The practical assessment are the best I have had, and I have left each of them feeling more confident and empowered by the quality of the trainers delivery and the content shared on each day. - I highly recommend the face to face assessments as this is where you will learn what a real counsellor sounds and behave like, and you will get to build a network of like minded people each on their own journey, and yet sharing the same passion. It's been a great experience studying with AIPC. They are extremely supportive and the delivery of the course was well structured and organized. I was a little bit worried to attend face to face assessments but I am so glad I did. The facilitators Lisa & Trevor are extremely helpful and friendly, making it a great experience. I couldn't attend my last assessment face to face but AIPC were quick to reschedule it for me, making sure it fits around my work schedule. I loved meeting other, like-minded students and making new meaningful connections. I am happy to graduate but I am also a little bit sad because it has been great to be a part of this amazing community. I have only good things to say about my experience of studying with the AIPC. Apart from the fact that the course is really interesting and offers flexible study options, the people who provide student support, who facilitate the practical workshops and the people who correct my workbooks are all just lovely. I enjoy attending the workshops in Bentley as they are a great way to meet like-minded people who put you at ease immediately, but I also love the fact that I have other options to submit my practical assessments online if I need to do that. I can't imagine anyone could ever regret doing this course. I love it!
