I'm at the end of the Masters of Counselling. This has been a fantastic course easily at the level of the big universities. They approach everything like they have something to prove, very different to a uni, some of which have an attitude that you should just feel lucky to be there. Academic rigour easily matches any other higher education institution. Some things are better than a big uni, the price for one and they were already way ahead of others in online learning when the pandemic hit. The criticisms I have are no different to what I have with study experience at university - class sizes for residential school could be smaller and assessment rubrics could sometimes be improved. The quality of lecturers is fantastic, content of the courses have kept me going in motivation when working full time and studying. Finding a practical placement has been hard as many places only take students from particular unis, but hoping I can get a place in the AIPC clinic to get finished. The admin/ student support staff are so friendly and helpful. Others have commented on the marketing but the payoff is that they treat you like a valued customer, very different to university where support staff can treat you like a high school student, not someone paying a lot of money to study with them! I would definitely recommend, I've really enjoyed my course and would make the same choice again.
